Measuring the pH value of water, before and after adding plant nutrients, is a part of successful home cultivation that should not be underestimated. This is because the pH value of the feed water determines the absorption of micro- and macro-elements, secondary fertilisers, trace elements and minerals. If the pH value of the feed water is too high or too low, the nutrients you add may not be absorbed, or only partially, by the plants. Hence, for every self-respecting homegrower, the pH meter is a permanent fixture in the arsenal, especially when using a mineral plant nutrient.
Milwaukee's waterproof and floatable pH51 PRO meter has a large, dual LCD display, which simultaneously shows the pH value in the (extended) range from -2.0 to 16.0 pH and the temperature from -5.0 to 60.0 °C. In addition, the display shows graphical symbols to simplify operation.
The pH51 temperature sensor guarantees fast response time, as its proximity to the pH electrode ensures an accurate reading. The pH and temperature electrode can be replaced quickly and easily by simply unscrewing the plastic ring on the electrode, removing the electrode and replacing it with a new one.
The pH51 has features such as a stability display (of the measured value) and a hold function to "freeze" current measured values, automatic temperature compensation, automatic switch-off after 8 minutes when not in use and an interchangeable Mi56P electrode.
